Full 3" Exhaust Kit. The Kooks Full Competition Exhaust Kit is a complete 3" system from headers to tail pipes. This kit includes a pair of Long Tube Step Headers, a pair of High-Flow Race Catalytic Converters, an X-Pipe, and a Cat-Back exhaust with adjustable mufflers. The mufflers exit in the same location as stock and reuse the factory tips located in the rear valance.
Long Tube Headers. Kooks Long Tube Headers are constructed from free flowing CNC mandrel-bent 304 stainless steel 1-3/4" primary tubes that step up to 1-7/8" and then merge at a 3" collector. The collector features scavenger spikes for superior exhaust flow. These headers feature a ball and socket design for optimal performance and a tight leak-free fit. Catted connection pipes are included.
X-Pipe; Race Car Growl. To significantly improve the flow of exiting exhaust gases, Kooks utilizes an X-Pipe which in return helps to increase power gains at higher RPMs. The included X-Pipe not only helps with power, but it also adds a raspy, race car growl to the sound of your GT350's exhaust with its modern "X" crossover pipe design.
3" Cat-Back. Kooks manufactures their Cat-Back Exhaust System from high quality 304 stainless steel piping for strength and corrosion resistance. Designed to out flow the factory exhaust system, this Cat-Back features mandrel bent 3" diameter tubing and a set of adjustable straight through mufflers. This Kooks Cat-Back reuse the factory tips located in the rear valance.
Compatible with Factory Multi-mode Exhaust. One of the coolest features of the Shelby GT350 is the multi-mode exhaust that allows the driver to select between normal and sport modes. Knowing that this was one feature that GT350 owners could not do without, Kooks designed their mufflers to re-use the original factory butterfly valves. When closed the valve blocks the exhaust flow, forcing it out one tip of the muffler to produce a more street friendly sound. When opened the valve "uncorks" the exhaust flow allowing it to exit through both tips of the muffler to produce an aggressive, throaty race style exhaust note. This Kooks Exhaust System reuses the factory valve motors.
Direct Bolt-On Installation. Kooks engineered their Competition System to be a direct bolt-on replacement for the original factory exhaust. There is no cutting or extra modifications required. Installation of this Kooks Competition Exhaust can be completed in about a day with just basic hand tools.
Calibration Required. Installation of this Kooks Competition Full Exhaust System will require the use of a hand held tuner to reprogram the vehicles computer (ECU) for operation. By reprogramming your Mustangs ECU you will be able to realize the full power potential that these Long Tube Headers have to offer.
Application. This Kooks Full 3 in. Competition Catted Exhaust System is designed as a direct fit bolt-on upgrade for all 2015 to 2019 Shelby GT350 and GT350R Mustangs equipped with the 5.2L Voodoo V8 engine. Will
